How do Mytimingcards work?
“Mytimingcards help you and your child make fun agreements about the maximum amount of screen time per week”
Discuss how many hours of screen time your child gets per day.
Read and sign the contract together.
Agree on when your child receives the cards: every day, or once a week on a fixed day.
When using a screen, your child starts the timer and hands in the right Mytimingcards.
Bonus cards can be given as a reward or as encouragement; parents decide how much time they are worth.
When the timer stops, the screen goes off.
Now it is time to try the play tips!
And… when they are gone, they are gone
Handy! Check the recommended screen time for your child here:
Children aged 2 – 4: no more than 30 minutes a day
Children aged 4 – 6: 4 moments, no more than 1 hour a day. About 15 minutes at a time
Children aged 6 – 8: no more than 1 hour a day, split into two sessions of about 30 minutes each
Children aged 8 – 10: no more than 1 to 1½ hours of screen time a day
Children aged 10 – 12: no more than 2 hours of screen time a day
For children under 2: as little screen time as possible. At most 10 minutes at a time, and preferably together with you
For children over 12, the guideline is no more than 3 hours a day
